My Top 25: Week Three

Seeing as I had West Virginia lower in my rankings than any other DA sports writer before the ECU loss, I guess it’s only fitting that I drop them out of my rankings entirely. Honestly, even before the ECU game, in my mind I knew I should have been ranking the Mountaineers around the 17-18 range.

You’ll note I have East Carolina lower in my poll than most, largely because I think that while the Pirates have looked impressive, they have done so against two highly overrated teams in Virginia Tech and WVU.

Ohio State needs to move, but we’ll have to wait until next week to see in which direction. If their lackluster win inspires them, they’ll move up the ranks a spot or two. If instead their appearance was a glimpse of what’s to come, well, they’ll drop out of the race pretty quickly.

LSU and Georgia will play each other for the SEC’s #1 spot. I don’t see how both can stay in the top 5.
